Chuck Toland is a private investigator that was hired by Henry Taylor to look into the alleged suicide of his son, Roger.

Day 7

While in a meeting with reporter Kevin Aldridge, Henry Taylor is informed by Agent Gedge that he has a phone call. After finishing the meeting, Taylor gets on the phone and speaks with Toland. He tells Henry that Samantha Roth, the former girlfriend of Roger, recently came into a sum of $400,000 that she received through an offshore banking account three days after Roger's death. Chuck offers to go speak to her about it, but Henry insists that Samantha would not be very willing to give information to a private investigator, and that it would be better for him to do it himself. Later on, Agent Gedge tells Henry that he believes Chuck is only playing on his grief for his own personal gain.
