Chase Edmunds was a field agent for CTU: Los Angeles during Day 3. He developed a relationship with Jack Bauer's daughter Kim while working at CTU.

Background

Chase Edmunds worked as a police officer at the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia's Emergency Response Team and then joined CTU: Washington. He eventually transferred to CTU: Los Angeles and became partners with Jack Bauer. Chase is one of the few people who know about the heroin addiction Jack developed while he was undercover.

Day 3

Early in Day 3, Jack learns that Chase is dating his daughter Kim. We also learn that Chase is a single father to a baby named Angela. Throughout Day 3, Kim is constantly worried for Chase's life. She tells Chase that she will raise Angela with him.

Chase goes after Jack when he helps Ramon Salazar escape prison. He disregards CTU orders to stay in Los Angeles and follows Jack to Mexico. Unbeknownst to Chase, Jack is involved in a sting operation to contain the Cordilla virus.

The Salazar's find Chase. To keep his cover, Jack is forced to let the Salazar's torture Chase. Jack enlists the help of his former lover, Claudia. She helps Chase escape and they flee from the Salazar's house. Unfortunately, Claudia is killed in the process.

After Jack and Chase return to America, he continues to help Jack try and locate the Cordilla virus. At the end of Day 3, there is one vile of the virus set to arm in a school. To prevent a terrorist from opening the virus launching device, Chase chains it to his hand. Jack uses an axe to cut off Chase's hand to stop the virus.

After Day 3, we are not sure whether Chase's hand is reattached or not but we do know he was working at a security firm and raising Angela with Kim.
