Main Cast
24 has had many main cast members throughout the seasons. Since the series is known for killing off main characters, there have been quite a few cast changes every season. Most notably the fourth and seventh seasons have had the biggest cast changes. Series star Kiefer Sutherland is the only actor to be a series regular for every season to date. While recurring guest star Glenn Morshower, who plays Aaron Pierce is the only other actor to appear in every season to date. It's common for an actor who is main recurring character to then join the cast the next season. Also, after a series regular departes from the cast, if they return, they're usually credited as a Special Guest Star. Actors to be credited as this are Penny Johnson Jerald, Carlos Bernard, Reiko Aylesworth, William Devane, Elisha Cuthbert, Kim Raver, Gregory Itzin, and Jean Smart. While Dennis Haysbert was given the Special Guest Appearance by credit. The only actors to become series regulars midseason after being recurring guest stars are Roger Cross and Lana Parrilla, which happened in season four.
