- The following takes place between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM, on the day of the California Presidential Primary.
- The pilot episode uses a different ticking clock sound from the rest of the series. Also, this is the only episode to feature a ticking clock sound when the on-screen clock appears in the episode.
- Sarah Clarke, who plays Nina Myers, was cast on the morning that the pilot episode began shooting. So, the outfit she is wearing is her real clothes she auditioned in.
- The season finale is one of two episodes that fade to black before the final clock. The other is the Season 6 finale.
- The season finale is one of six episodes to feature the silent clock.
- The season finale is the only episode to feature flashbacks during the episode. When Jack Bauer finds his wife, Teri dead, scenes from the pilot episode of the Bauer family are shown.
- Sarah Clarke and Xander Berkeley met during the filming of Season 1. After a year, they eventually got married in September 2002. Clarke gave birth to their first child in September 2006.
